SHOWS: AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND (NOVEMBER 8, 2017) (TVNZ - Broadcasters: NO ACCESS NEW ZEALAND Digital: NO ACCESS NEW ZEALAND INTERNET SITES / ANY INTERNET SITE OF ANY NEW ZEALAND OR AUSTRALIAN BASED MEDIA ORGANISATIONS OR MOBILE PLATFORMS) 1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOSEPH PARKER'S PROMOTER DAVID HIGGINS, WITH JOSEPH PARKER BEHIND HIM WITH BELT, SAYING: "Eddie Hearn and I started gently exchanging e-mails you know, a week ago, or whatever and then we sort of agreed a couple of days ago. He said, you know, I said go and talk to Anthony, he said he'll talk to Anthony Joshua. I said I'll talk to Joseph Parker. So we both sort of connected again yesterday and my message was Parker would fight Joshua next. And Hearn's message was Anthony Joshua would fight Parker next. So it's really down to a question of the deal and money." 2. WHITE FLASH 3. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOSEPH PARKER'S TRAINER KEVIN BARRY SAYING: "We all saw that Joshua could not hurt Takam and it was a very, very promoter-friendly stoppage. That fight showed me once again that Anthony Joshua is very, very beatable. He definitely has a stamina problem. He definitely can not knock you out with one punch. It's a guy who has to put several big heavy punches together. He's very robotic. He doesn't have very good selection of lead patterns and I think the guy is there for the taking and I want us to get in front of him before someone else beats him." STORY: Both Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker are keen to square off for a heavyweight title fight in the first quarter of next year, but the financial agreements had to be right, Parker's promoter said on Wednesday (November 8). Britain's Joshua holds the IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight titles, while New Zealand's Parker holds the WBO title. American Deontay Wilder holds the WBC title. Parker's promoter David Higgins said they were in talks with Joshua's manager and if they were able to agree to a fight, it would probably be next March or April. Parker's trainer Kevin Barry said Joshua's fight last month against Cameroonian-French heavyweight challenger Carlos Takam, a late replacement for original opponent Kubrat Pulev, had shown that Joshua was "very, very beatable". Joshua won the fight when it was stopped in the 10th round. Higgins said he had also been talking with Wilder, who knocked out Bermane Stiverne in New York last Saturday and then accused Joshua of 'dodging' a potential showdown.
