SHOWS: HOBART, AUSTRALIA (NOVEMBER 17, 2017) (AUSTRALIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION - Broadcasters: NO ACCESS AUSTRALIA Digital: NO ACCESS AUSTRALIA .COM.AU INTERNET SITES / ANY INTERNET SITE OF ANY AUSTRALIAN BASED MEDIA ORGANISATIONS OR MOBILE PLATFORMS / AUSTRALIAN NVO CLIENTS / SMH.COM.AU / NEWS.COM.AU) 1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) AUSTRALIAN CRICKETER TIM PAINE, SAYING: "Yeah it's exciting. For an Australian, I think it's probably the biggest series in cricket and to have it here in Australia is even better. I made my test debut I think seven years ago but I feel like I'm about to make my test debut again. So it's extremely exciting and yeah, I'm just absolutely pumped for it." 2. WHITE FLASH 3. (SOUNDBITE) (English) AUSTRALIAN CRICKETER TIM PAINE, SAYING: "As I said before I was in the last Twenty20 side for Australia, so it's not as if I haven't been wicketkeeping. I keep every day of my life, so I'm ready as I've ever been with the gloves. As I said I'm just rapt to have the opportunity and planning on making the most of it." STORY: Australia have recalled wicketkeeper Tim Paine for the first time in seven years in a selection bombshell while dropping opening batsman Matt Renshaw in a surprising Ashes squad for the series against England on Friday (November 17). The 32-year-old Paine, who played the last of his four tests in October 2010, has been included in a 13-man squad for the opening two tests, replacing the out-of-form Matthew Wade and denying Peter Nevill a spot. In peculiar circumstances, Paine has not been considered the premier wicketkeeper for his state side Tasmania, with Wade taking the gloves in the domestic Sheffield Shield. Also chosen is uncapped Western Australian Cameron Bancroft to replace Renshaw as David Warner's opening partner after scoring a mountain of Shield runs in the leadup to the first test in Brisbane starting next Thursday (November 23).
