President Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn has been charged with lying to the FBI. A court filing made public on Friday says he "willfully and knowingly" made false statements to the FBI in January 2017 about his contacts with Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergei Kislyak. Those contacts allegedly involved conversations about U.S. sanctions against Russia and a vote at the United Nations Security Council. The retired Army Lieutenant General is the latest former Trump official facing charges in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian meddling in the U.S. election and alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.
