Tennis - Bulgarian Sesil Karatantcheva will take Kazakh citizenship to compete for the former Soviet republic for the next three years, her father and coach Radoslav Karatantchev said.
"The contract with Kazakhstan is a matter of professionalism and survival," Karatantchev told Bulgarian Kanal 3. "It's a three-year contract which will give Sesil financial stability."
The 19-year-old Karatantcheva returned to the court a year ago after serving a two-year doping ban but struggled to regain her form. In 2005, aged 15, she reached the French Open quarter-finals and was ranked inside the world's top 40.
Soccer - Angola striker Santana has agreed to sign for Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes from Angolan champions Petro Atletico, the Portuguese club said on their website (www.vitoriasc.pt).
Santana was the top scorer in Angola's Girabola league in 2007. No further details of the deal were available. (Editing by Sonia Oxley)
