Shoe tossed at Israeli ambassador

Feb 6 - A shoe and a book were thrown at the Israeli ambassador to Sweden when he visited Stockholm University.

Benny Dagan had been invited to the university to give a speech on the upcoming elections in Israel when a woman in the audience hurled a shoe at him which apparently hit him in the chest.

A book was also thrown. A member of the audience recorded the incident.

Police quickly removed some of the people from the lecture hall and two people were later charged with assault and disturbing the peace.
