News of a Egypt's newly elected Muslim president has garnered praise, and apprehension from regional neighbours. In Gaza-- children held flags and chanted praise for Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohammed Morsy. Leaders of Gaza's governing body, Hamas, see eye to eye with the Brotherhood on several issues, including hostility towards Israel. They hope his election will bring renewed support for their cause. But in Jerusalem, trepidation. Hosni Mubarak's Egypt was a friend to Israel, and now that may be in question. Residents say they hope Morsy proceeds with peaceful intentions. In Yemen, veiled women celebrate in the streets. And in Saudi Arabia, diners at an Egyptian restaurant offer general praise for Morsy. The Saudi government, however, who have a poor relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, have said nothing about Morsy's election. Julie Noce, Reuters
