Outgoing South Korean President, Lee Myung-bak called an emergency National Security Council meeting to discuss the incident. Defense Ministry officials said the country is on high alert. In Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe cut short a meeting to address parliament. (nats) And instructed people to prepare for the unforeseen. For now, the South Korean , North Korean border is quiet.
