He may be known for his size, but for a day in Belarus, Gerard Depardieu was known for his scythe - after being invited by the country's president Alexander Lukashenko to learn about local agriculture. When he'd got the hang of the age-old mowing tool, Lukashenko invited France's biggest actor to feed a horse. Depardieu, who owns a vineyard in the Loire valley, and the Belarussian president took time out from traditional farming to discuss issues such as eco-technologies, before getting right up to date with modern farming... by jumping in a tractor and proving that the ancient art of scything is almost redundant.
