Speaking at a news conference in Florida, Trump had to be corrected by reporters when he referred to Hinckley as David and not John. He tried to make up for the mistake by saying he had just heard about it. A federal judge ruled on Wednesday that Hinckley should be released from a government psychiatric hospital after 35 years and released to live with his mother, citing he no longer posed a danger to himself or others. Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 1982 for the attack on Reagan, which also badly wounded presidential press secretary James Brady, a policeman and a Secret Service agent. Hinckley acted to impress actress Jodie Foster, with whom he was obsessed.
